Our photos are from our jobs

Every picture on this site is our own team on real sites: jetties, process plant and the panels nobody else wants to open in February. We'd rather show you the work than a stock photo of a hard hat.

How a job runs

No surprises, start to finish

The same four steps whether it's one panel or a full site inspection programme.

  1. Plan

We agree scope, zones, access and permits up front, so the plan is realistic for your site and your budget.

  2. Collaborate

You're kept in the loop as the work happens. Findings are raised as we find them, not saved up for the report.

  3. Deliver

Work completed to the relevant standard, with records you can hand to an auditor without editing them first.

  4. Support

Remedial work, re-inspections and ongoing maintenance from the people who already know your site.

What clients say

Ex-ceptional Engineering have gone above and beyond to make sure each task is completed to a very high standard. We would not hesitate to recommend them as we look to future projects.

Common questions

See all questions

How often do Ex inspections need doing?

BS EN IEC 60079-17 says periodic inspections should not normally be more than three years apart. The right interval for your site depends on the equipment, its environment and what earlier inspections found. We'll recommend one with the reasoning written down.

What should we have ready for an inspection?

Your hazardous area classification drawings, the Ex equipment register and certificates, and any previous inspection records. If some of that is missing, tell us. Rebuilding it is part of what we do.

Do you do non-Ex electrical and instrument work?

Yes. Installation, commissioning, maintenance and fault-finding on industrial electrical and instrumentation equipment, in safe areas as well as hazardous ones.

Need an Ex inspection or a pair of hands on site?

Tell us what the site is, what's installed and when you need it done. We'll come back with a clear scope and quote.
